Friends of Willow Park is an incorporated community group that works to:
- promote the protection an preservation of Willow Park as public open space parkland;
- promote the protection and preservation of the social, economic and environmental value of Willow Park including the flora, fauna and features (scenic, archaeological, geological, historic or scientific);
- educate and inform the community about the role and value of Willow Park; and
- foster community involvement in, and enjoyment of, Willow Park in accordance with the above objectives.
The group has a range of activities including:
- a newsletter
- information evenings where we hear from interesting guest speakers, discuss topical issues and have a great time! - 3rd Thursday of alternate months at 7.30pm at Belvoir school
- monthly community gardening in the park that involves planting, weeding, learning about conservation, and litter reduction - 4th Sunday of the month
- monthly waterwatch activities in the wetland and creek - 4th Sunday of the month
- regular monitoring of next boxes that have been installed in the park
- facilitating National Tree Day plantings and Arbor Week activities
- working with council and the community to plan for the future of the park
- social get-togethers
